Funded in 1928, Resurrection of Our Lord Parish has long served as a
cornerstone of faith and community life in Northeast
Philadelphia. Originally established to serve the growing
Catholic population of the area, the parish has grown
into a dynamic hub offering religious education, youth
programs, and community events. With deep neighborhood roots,
Resurrection continues to be a place where faith inspires action and
community thrives.

The Church of Saint Luke & The Epiphany,
part of the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania, is
known for its rich diversity, encompassing people
of all ages, orientations, and backgrounds. Since its
foundation in 1839 and merger in 1898, the church has
been dedicated to service and compassion, from early
outreach efforts to modern-day support initiatives. Today,
it continues to embody this commitment through various
parish activities, support groups, and community service,
offering a welcoming environment where God's love is
actively lived out.

Established by Rev. William Motley on January
19, 1920, the parish began with a group of seventy
German-American families and was named after
St. William of Vercelli. Originally meeting in the
Germania Maennerchor Hall, the church now serves
over 5,000 members with services in four languages.
The current church building, constructed in 1955,
supports a vibrant community with a range of worship
services and activities.

In 2008, Calvary Episcopal Church, Northern
Liberties, and St. Augustine Church of the Covenant
explored a merger, culminating in their first joint
service on February 15, 2009, as Calvary St. Augustine
Episcopal Church. Guided by the Reverend Renee
McKenzie-Hayward, the church flourished until her
move in October 2011, after which the Reverend Isaac
Miller took on the role of Interim Rector, leading the
congregation in its mission of community support
and spiritual unity.

In 2008, Calvary Episcopal Church, Northern
Liberties, and St. Augustine Church of the Covenant
explored a merger, culminating in their first joint

its branches. For over 115 years, Settlement Music School
has provided high-quality arts education to the Greater
Philadelphia region. Offering financial aid to over 60% of
students, it ensures accessibility for all, regardless of age
or background. With inclusive programming and exceptional
faculty, Settlement serves over 10,000 students weekly
across the community.

Esperanza empowers North Philadelphia’s Hunting Park
community by providing faith-based programs for over 30 years.
These include education, youth civic engagement, STEM,
and arts programs, helping individuals accumulate skills and assets.
Guided by faith, integrity, and excellence, Esperanza fosters hope,
opportunity, and leadership among underserved communities.
Esperanza fosters personal and community transformation by
promoting self-efficacy and hope in North Philadelphia. For over
30 years, it has created "opportunity communities" through programs
in education, housing, economic development, and legal services.
Esperanza’s model combats poverty by empowering individuals and
building local institutions for national replication.

of Fox Chase, St. Cecilia Catholic Church remains a vibrant
center of faith and community life. Known for its welcoming parish
community, strong academic programs, and commitment to service, St. Cecilia’s
fosters faith, education, and fellowship among families and
individuals. With its rich history and active ministries, St. Cecilia’s continues
to embody the spirit of faith, service, and unity that defines the Fox Chase community.
