We are a passionate group of Philadelphia-based community leaders and professional musicians who came together to form Artcinia with a shared belief that everyone deserves access to the transformative power of the performing arts. In June 2021, we launched our flagship initiative, Music in Your Neighborhood, in partnership with Partners for Sacred Places. This program was born from a simple idea—to bring community-driven, engaging, affordable performances to neighborhood spaces throughout Philadelphia and beyond, making the arts accessible to all. 

Over the past three years, we’ve brought live music of all kinds to unexpected places: houses of worship, grassy knolls, slanting sidewalks, parking lots, gardens, and community centers. With performances ranging from classical string quartets and swing bands to Brazilian jazz and spiritual song recitals, we’ve reached 18 neighborhoods, fairly compensated over 170 professional musicians, and welcomed more than 5,500 people to the enriching experience of live performance. 

Music in Your Neighborhood is unique because it is created by you, for you and your neighbors, and celebrates who you are and the music that you love. Music in Your Neighborhood gives voice to your community and what you value – and the opportunity to share it with others.
