Nearly 200 years ago, the Market Square Church,
one of the earliest German Reformed Churches in
America founded in 1733, conducted services in German.
This led to the creation of the First Church to cater to
English-speaking members. Officially organized on
October 17, 1809, the church overcame financial difficulties
and flourished under leaders such as Rev. J. Frederick
Dripps and Rev. D. Reginald Thomas. Today, First
Presbyterian Church in Germantown has transformed
into a vibrant urban ministry, reflecting the diversity of
its surrounding community.

We are deeply grateful to the many individuals whose generosity fuels Artcinia’s mission. Your support has brought the performing arts to neighborhoods throughout Philadelphia where access is limited, allowing residents to experience the transformative power of music and art right in their own backyards. Each performance celebrates community, culture, and connection, all made possible by your belief in our work. From all of us at Artcinia and from the communities touched by every note and every song, thank you for being a vital part of this journey.
“Such an outstanding performance and so much fun.”
